The Middle East is an area where is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pressed up the rate of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is making the most of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
